Healing Race Portal is a 3-day experiential journey that: 

• guides participants through historical sites, 
• teaches embodied healing practices and 
• facilitates dialogue to process racial trauma at the psycho-physiological level, releasing pain, stress, and confusion and cultivating belonging.

This event has never been offered before and is unlikely to occur again in this intimate, in-person, small-group format. A team of support people will be on-site, led by Rev. angel and with Dr. Resmaa Menakem as a special guest. Together, they will prime, guide, teach, model, and facilitate personal and collective transformation.

People will return to their lives having reconnected to a time before they knew race mattered, and been witnessed in collective. HRP experiences offer profound personal transformation and tools for racial reckoning that you can bring back to your families and communities.

It has always been time for this work. As world leaders grab power and flagrantly defy international and domestic law, threatening all life on the planet, we gather now to unlock a flow of resources for our personal and collective healing, global solidarity, ongoing resistance, and repair.

This experience is designed for leaders, healers, changemakers, and individuals committed to deep racial healing in their personal lives, communities, and organizations, as well as those who want to invest in healing race at a massive scale worldwide.

Tiered registration pricing includes accommodations, program fees & most meals.

Dinner on Wednesday, March 12th is not included.

Hotel accommodations extend to Friday, March 14th. If you stay beyond the 14th, you will be responsible to cover that night’s hotel costs.

Flight to and from Montgomery is not included. Please book flights as soon as possible. 

• If you are flying, the closest airport is Montgomery Regional Airport (MGM)
• Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) is also an option. Driving distance from this airport to Montgomery is approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes.

A shuttle from the MGM airport will be provided. Lyft and Uber are also available for those who prefer their own method of transportation.

We currently do not have payment plans available for this due to the hard costs that come with an in-person event and the requirements from the vendors and locations to pay in advance.

The tiered registration options include "Uplifted" which is reduced 40% from the total direct costs per person.

The experience begins with a welcome dinner on March 11—you can miss this event. However, please arrive that night, Tuesday, March 11. 

Wednesday’s mandatory activities include the HRP Priming Session in the morning and Civil Return Walk to and through Legacy Museum. Visits to additional Legacy Sites on that day, such as the Lynching Memorial and Sculpture Garden, are optional.

Thursday, March 13, is core to the HRP experience. Expect to take part in deep dialogue and transformative practices throughout the day. 

The celebratory dance gathering the night of March 13 is core to the HRP experience, and you can miss this event if you need to leave that evening.

Friday, March 14, is optional. Guests may depart after the morning closing session or stay and tour the Mothers of Gynecology exhibit. 

We recommend departing in the afternoon or evening of the 14th.

If you are arriving by plane, a shuttle between MGM airport and your hotel will be provided.

Most activities and restaurants are within walking distance. People may prefer to use Lyft and Uber. Shuttles operate between Legacy Museum & Sites during open hours.

If you are driving in, please note that the hotel charges a fee for parking.
